Time For Spring Cleaning

It’s officially spring! When our homes are closed off for the winter with doors and windows shut, heat kicked on, and more dirt and dust tracked in, it is essential to freshen things up with the season changing as we welcome new beginnings.

SAY GOODBYE TO TOO MUCH STUFF
It’s the perfect time to say goodbye to clothing you haven’t worn in a year and other unused items. Evaluate clothes for rips or stains. Try on items- what no longer fits or is too big? It’s time to move on with a fresh start. There are amazing organizations, such as Bonney Lake Donations that accept clothing and other household items where they can be “rehomed” to someone who can use them! As you clean out your closet, you may even find items you forgot you had or that were lost. Time to get rid of what you don’t need!

REPLACE AIR FILTERS
Keep indoor quality as high as possible by replacing your air filters. By changing them out regularly (not just at springtime), enjoy less dust and reduced allergens.

DEEP CLEAN YOUR CARPET & HARDWOODS
A deep clean will set the rest of the year up right. Vacuum carpets and then target stains/soiled areas that you’ve put off tackling. Then, it’s time to get the dirt out of the fibers by using a carpet cleaner. When it comes to hardwoods,  sweep away dirt so nothing scratches the floor, and then use a damp mop. Spring is also the perfect time to get your carpets and hardwoods profesionally cleaned. After your professional cleaning, we can reapply carpet protection in heavy traffic areas to help with wear and tear, preventing abrasian. We also help our customers refresh the look of their hardwood flooring. Many popular cleaners on the market leave an acrylic coating behind, harming the floors, resulting in thick dull build up. At Crystal Carpet Care, we use professional equipment to strip the thick film and then deep clean the floor, making the beauty of the hardwood easier to maintain for you.

DEEP CLEAN THE KITCHEN
The kitchen is the most used room in the house and as it’s said, “the heart of the home.” Freshen up your sink by using baking soda and vinegar in the garbage disposal, or a couple tiny pieces of lemon peels, and run your garbage disposal. Wipe down the cabinents.Take the time to clean your microwave and get rid of stains. Spring cleaning is also a good time to put your oven on self clean to burn any remainding particles or stains, and while you’re at it, organize and wipe out the inside of your fridge.

DEEP CLEAN THE BATHROOMS
Clean your tile, grout, tubs, and shower glass doors thouroughly to remove build up. Oftentimes this is a trouble spot for many of our customers as the bathroom can take a beating from so many soaps and other products used each day. When the residue isn’t coming off easily or the build up on the glass won’t clear, it’s time to hire professionals. We come in with speciality products to take the soap scum away, including the calcium build up on the glass.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOUR WINDOWS AND BLINDS
While your spring cleaning is underway, make sure to clean your windows. Having clean windows will increase curb appeal and taking off the grime inside will brighten your home indoors. If you have little kids or pets at home, use a natural cleaner like water and vinegar with a microfiber cloth for the inside. Wipe the glass with a damp rag on the outside to get off residue, and then proceed with a window cleaner. Also, make sure to get those blinds taken care of! That is a favorite hang out spot for dust.
